30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will tell a shared story using basic elements of story telling, [characters, setting, plot].Unlike other story telling experiences, this story will be a combined group effort. We will have a class discussion to brainstorm ideas to come up with characters, setting and the plot for our story. Students will take turns adding to our story by working together to make sure it has a clear beginning, middle and end. This story telling activity is a verbal activity for the students. Their ideas will be written down and we will have a story time with our own masterpiece once it is complete. Students will then draw an illustration for our story.
Learning Goals
Students will build on oral story telling skills by contributing their thoughts and ideas to create a class story. Students will develop characters, a plot and setting for our story. Students will work together for a common goal while respecting other's ideas and taking turns to talk.
