I was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated to Toronto, Canada when I was 14 years old. I am fluent in speaking, reading and writing Tagalog. As a teacher of 15 years, I am excited to teach my mother tongue to my future students! I personally didn't grown up being proud about my Filipino culture but as a 41 year old woman looking back, I believe it is a tool they can learn and have to connect to many others. I believe I am one small step in providing extra pride in your child's culture and heritage.
