Class Experience

Students will learn basic verbal and nonverbal communication skills such as:
1. How to say "Hello" and "Goodbye"
2. How to introduce themselves using the phrase "My name is ____."
3. How to listen and respond (receptive and expressive communication) saying certain words/phrases/sounds.
4. Use of eye contact and other physical communication (high five, smile).
5. How to appropriately socialize and interact with peers.
As a board-certified music therapist, I have a wealth of experience in working with children who have special needs. I have worked with individuals who are both nonverbal and verbal in both one-on-one and group settings. Through the power of music, I have seen children shift from nonverbal to verbal in a matter of minutes. I look forward to meeting your precious child and please feel free to message me with any information that you would like me to know about your particular child's needs prior to class.
No homework is assigned for this course.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
