In this hands-on class, your teen will learn how to roll Maki rolls and inside out rolls (rice on the inside and rice on the outside). We will make the sushi rice and talk about the importance of getting the rice correct. We will focus on the imitation crab salad generally used to fill California rolls, but you may choose any fillings you like and I will instruct your teen on how to use those ingredients appropriately. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using knives and a stovetop for this class. Please make sure your student feels comfortable with these items, or have parental supervision available. Allergies in these recipes: wheat (if soy sauce is desired), fish or shellfish (some substitutions may be made, but not all can be avoided)
