Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
This one-time class is taught by a Certified Financial Planner Professional who guides learners with a crash course in financial literacy.

Money skills don’t come naturally to many people and our money habits start early. Working together, Mrs. Alyx will answer learner's questions as well as touch on a number of financial literacy topics. The small class size is for high learner interaction and ability to answer learners' questions.

Using a number of visual activities and short videos, we will review:
Needs/wants; values & priorities
Living within your means and managing expenses (“budgeting”)
Earning and saving money; setting goals and milestones
The basics of credit cards/borrowing

This class includes a PDF workbook for learners to continue their goal planning.

Learning Goals

This content is generally appropriate for ages 13-16 but will be most beneficial for learners who have experience with money and will help with understanding earning money and making independent spending choices.
