Class experience

I am a homeschooling mom of five kids, ranging in age from ten to nineteen. We are diving into our 6th year of homeschool and we love it. I have a passion for both education and creativity and I love combining the two whenever I can. When I'm not teaching (my kids or someone else's), I run a business based purely on creativity and art.

Traveling (and 8 years of formal classes) gave me a handle on the Spanish language. I have a background in general education from 19 years of combined experience teaching in public and charter school settings, as well as tutoring one on one, ESL, and running various camps and activities. My experience ranges from childcare (infant) age all the way through high school age and includes work with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as students with mental health issues.

I have a passion for, and educational background in Graphic Art/Design, however, my degrees are AA in Liberal Studies and a BA in General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. I am also TESOL certified.
Minecraft Bedrock Edition
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be playing the game with other students on a private server. There will be a short discussion at the start of each session regarding internet safety and digital etiquette.

During this class, students will be using the game Minecraft on a private server. A Minecraft Bedrock account is required and should be set up prior to the start of our first class. Minecraft is not a free game but can be purchased in the app store on your device or on the Mojang website. The Bedrock edition is what we will be using in class.

Students are welcome to use their current Minecraft accounts or create a new account just for this class (although that would require purchasing the game again). Students will give me their gamer tags in a private chat message so that I can add them to the server. Gamer tags will not be shared with anyone other than me.

The class server will be closed when the class is not in session. This resource is on OutschooI's officially approved list.

Students MUST use Minecraft to participate in this class, as it is game-based.
