Class Experience

In this course, we will play a complete live game of Jeopardy in each class. Our content will include a wide range of general knowledge topics. Categories include history (elections, battles, world history, U.S. History, monarchs, eras) art, food, and geography, just to name a few. Two sample questions are listed below.

MAMMALS:
This domesticated pack animal is South America's largest member of the camel family
What is a llama?

THE ONE AND ONLY:
This oldest of the seven ancient wonders is the only one still standing
Great Pyramids(s)

Round up your friends for a tournament!

We will use the site playfacticle.com to play our games. The format and gameplay are the same as the famous television game show popular for decades. Each class will include a two-round game featuring clues and a final question. Students will use a device (cell phone, tablet..) to buzz in when ready to give the correct response to the clue on the board.

NOTE: (1) All participants must have their cameras and microphones on throughout the entire class for all students' safety. (2) The use of outside sources is not allowed during the game.

I have more than 20 years of experience as a history teacher. I often used games as a review activity or just to have fun. Additionally, I was the advisory for the History Club, and we used Jeopardy-like games as we prepared for the National History Bee.
