*If your child will require more guidance or accommodations feel free to message me before class. In this learner-directed ongoing class, I hope to provide a positive learning environment where students will feel comfortable and safe to interact with other students. Each week the students will be deciding what we talk about during class. This class will have discussions on different video games that we enjoy. Whether that is talking about Nintendo, Sony, or other video games. While the class is going on, students will have multiple opportunities to interact with the class. During our discussions, learners will be developing their communication and listening skills while building friendships along the way. A example of what the weeks may look like: week of 01/18: what video game we think is the greatest of all time? week of 01/25: What game do we enjoy playing the most? week of 02/01: How long have you been playing? And what was your first game? week of 02/08: What game do you think is overrated? Note: this weekly plan is open to change because the students may want to discuss something different than the topics listed.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to improve listening skills, learning to give and receive feedback appropriately and make lasting friendships with peers.
