Class Experience

Learners will apply skills covered in the class The Art of Group Discussion in this weekly club. The goal is to practice semi-formal team or class-type discussion groups (not social gatherings/hanging out with friends). Depending on how the discussions go, the Topics of Discussions Wheel will be spun once or twice per class to determine the topic, and learners will actively listen, disagree appropriately, build confidence, and give valuable contributions to the group. I will play the role of moderator, giving some helpful and encouraging feedback to gently guide students in mastering their discussion skills briefly after each topic.

Each week will cover a different random topic that will be determined by a student spinning the wheel.

It would be best to join this club after completing The Art of Group Discussion for Teens so that participants are familiar with tips and tricks to master the learning goals of the club.

Since this is a discussion club, if there is only one student enrolled we will have to reschedule or cancel. I ask that you keep that in mind and be understanding if that happens. We can always work something out if we communicate.
