Teddy & Me ESL: Beginner Phonics Class (English as a Second Language) Ages 3-7

In this one-time course, learners will be introduced to phonics. Phonics is important because the more easily learners can hear, identify, & manipulate sounds, the easier it will be to decode new words when they are ready to read.

Description

Class Experience

Students will build upon their foundational English skills, strengthen their speaking and listening abilities. Students will gain confidence in speaking English letter sounds and recognizing letters through the interactive curriculum provided.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo. I am 120 hour TESOL certified. I have been teaching ESL online since March 2019.
Homework will not be assigned. Learners are encouraged to practice what they have learned with family and friends as often as possible.
Supplies are not required but some teddy bear coloring pages are offered for you to print out to color outside of class.
Learner progress will be monitored through active participation and on an informal assessment basis throughout the duration of class.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools. I will be using and referring to the Crystal Clear ESL curriculum, which is aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
