In this one-time class, students will begin by learning about what anxiety is, and how it affects their brain and body. They will practice identifying anxious thoughts and feelings. We will talk about what we can do when we have a thought that makes us anxious or worried. We will practice breathing techniques and self talk that can help us stay in control of those thoughts and feelings. We will normalize that it's okay to worry. These feelings are normal, and they are part of being human. We will also explain why and how we can maintain control over these feelings.
Learning Goals
Students will develop breathing strategies and thought techniques to stay in control of their anxiety.
