45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Is there an imaginary place you've always wanted to visit? Now you can with this fun collaging technique to create a majestic landscapes! In this single class, we will be using colored paper to create a scene of mountains, lakes, castles, dragons--whatever your imagination can conjure up--and paste them together to make a bookmark. All 45 minutes will be step-by-step demonstration and follow-along activity. I will provide some basic instructions and tips, but I leave the creativity up to the artists. Collaboration and questions are encouraged. No prior art experience is required. I find that a teacher is only as good as their flexibility. I use structure to guide students in achieving certain skills, but I leave the experimentation, creativity, and imagination up to them! I actively strive to learn from my students as much as they can learn from me.
Learning Goals
Students will develop creative skills and an increase their spacial awareness. They will understand the concept of creating space with 2-dimensional planes.

Associate's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Cuesta Community College
I received my AA in studio art in 2016, and I have been teaching art since 2020, when I led a paint tutorial for a sixth grade birthday party that was almost cancelled due to the pandemic. I really enjoyed the experience and became excited about the idea of sharing art and creativity with other artists. I love both the science and subjectiveness of art--I think there's a lot we can learn from it, and I can't wait to share it with your learners!
