Student Experience:
This class is for learners who want to be in a safe space where they'll have multiple opportunities to talk about their Minecraft knowledge, collaborate with other students, and discuss self-interests. Minecraft is an open virtual playground which is excellent for cultivating friendships.

Class Format:
In each and every class I will ask all students their objectives and what are they working towards. I will guide students throughout the class and ensure that help is given when required. My goal is to provide fun, lively and engaging experiences. I involve everyone in the class and encourage self-expression.

What to Expect:
β€’ Exploring Minecraft worlds and biomes
β€’ Using strategies to collect resources and achieve objectives
β€’ Engaging with students
β€’ Working as a team
β€’ Fun challenges, jobs and quests
β€’ Learn about virtual money and resource economies
β€’ Trade items with students
β€’ Sharing tips and tricks
β€’ Crafting creative buildings
β€’ Commands - throughout our classes, your learner will learn commands that will help them throughout their survival journey

Game Settings and Types:
PVP - Player vs player is automatically disabled; however, students will have the ability to turn it on via commands if they wish to do so. Only players with PVP enabled will be able to participate in battles.

Keep Inventory is ON - When a player no longer has any hearts left and they re-spawn, they will not lose their items.

Creative World :
Players will also have access to the 'Creative' game type in the β€˜Hub’. The Hub is where your player will appear when they join the server, and this is where you can select the game type you wish to play in. In the Creative world, players can build creations without having to collect resources. Students will have access to the entire block selection. Students are welcome to access the Creative world to work on their creations as an alternative to the survival experience.

Village Defence:
Learners will have access to the 'Village Defence' game type in the β€˜Hub’. Village defence is a teamwork-based game where players must defend the village from monsters. Occasionally throughout the class, we may vote to play Village Defence as a fun alternative to the traditional survival experience.

Battle Arena:
Players will have access to the 'Battle Arena' game type in the β€˜Hub’. The Battle Arena is an area where players can challenge each other to duel (PVP). Occasionally throughout the class, we may vote to play Battle Arena as a fun alternative to the traditional survival experience.

Bedwars:
Students will occasionally have access to the 'Bedwars' game type in the β€˜Hub’. Minecraft Bedwars is a game where teams build structures, protect their bed, and try to break other teams' beds to eliminate them. It's a quick and fun game that needs teamwork, smart building, and good fighting skills to win!

Mini-Games:
Students will occasionally have access to the 'Mini-Games' server. These games are designed to engage students and improve their Minecraft skill set.

This is a Custom Server
This is my own, private and secure Minecraft server. The server can only be accessed when you are subscribed to a class. This server has been customised to prioritise learner fun and safety. My role is to keep a safe environment for all students, as well as assist students in game. I regularly change & improve the server.

From my background in coding and technology, and the nature of Minecraft, I have added additional tools and features to my server. All features are managed by myself and are used to improve my abilities to control the virtual environment. Features like land claiming to protect items & builds, chat monitoring, student shops, quests and much more!

All rules must be followed at all times. Please see the classroom and server rules on the classroom page. I will always enforce the rules to promote a safe environment. If multiple rules are broken, the learner will be removed and unsubscribed.

Server Communication:
Whilst this is a private server, it is shared by other verified students from other classes. As this is a multiplayer server, students will be able to communicate via text messaging in the game. The server chat is regularly monitored and I, the teacher, am directly notified of any wrongdoings.

If you would prefer your learner not to be able to chat to other players, or see the chat dialog, please message me and I will assist with this request.

Breakout Rooms:
Students are welcome to join a β€˜Breakout Room' if they want to have a more private area with other learners. Breakout rooms are private zoom rooms that can be added to a class. Both students must agree to open their own breakout room. I will always ask students for their permission before opening a breakout room. I will regularly switch to the breakout room to ensure students are working well together. Students are able to freely move between their private room and the main classroom, as well as ask for help. Breakout rooms are particularly useful for learners who want to work on specific projects. They are also a great way to build friendships.

Safety:
This lesson offers a safe space for learners to practise problem-solving, leadership, strategy, communication and teamwork skills. Instructions on how to join the server will be given upon enrolment.

Every student must have a working webcam to participate in the class. At the start of every class, I will need to see the learners face for safety purposes.

Students are unable to join the server/realm outside of class as learners are not to be left unsupervised in a server at any time.

A basic understanding of Minecraft is required for joining the server and playing alongside students.

Please do not share any personal information. This includes Discord & Zoom information. If your learner wishes to connect with another student, please contact me or use the classroom page to directly message another parent. Communication and arrangements need to stay on Outschool for learner privacy and safety.

I will regularly speak to all learners and offer help throughout the class. I always ensure I speak to every student and try to organise activities that we can do collectively. Some students work with their friend groups or alone.

Please ensure that you have the latest Minecraft version installed and join the correct Minecraft lesson type. In order to play online, you will need to have purchased Minecraft and will need to be signed into the same Microsoft/Mojang account you purchased the game with. I recommend the learner has their own device for playing. If you have any troubles or questions with regard to setting up Minecraft, please message me before class time. I am more than happy to help! I cannot give refunds if you are unable to join due to a lack of preparation. Thank you for understanding.

If your computer cannot handle Zoom and Minecraft at the same time, I recommend using two devices, one for each application. For example: using a mobile phone for Zoom and a PC for Minecraft.

Please make sure to check Zoom and Minecraft for updates before class.

Refunds
Refunds can be requested if your learner cannot attend the class by contacting me directly. Refunds will only be applied if you contact me with 24 hours notice. If your learner is going away on vacation or cannot make the class for a week or two, please contact me and I will be happy to refund you instead of having to unsubscribe and then re-subscribe.

Support
If you ever have any requests or concerns, please directly message me.

Sometimes class starts early or finishes later just because we have such a great time.

I look forward to our first adventure!
