Teaching Mr. Grinch More Manners

Mr. Grinch's heart has grown 3-sizes but he really needs his friends to help teach him more manners for every day scenarios he will encounter. Let's teach him through role-play while we study the letter 'M' for Mister, More, and Manners!

Class experience

-Identify name and sound of the letter 'M'
-make an upside down happy/frown Mr. Grinch craft
-discuss scenarios when we need to remember to use our manners
-role-play manners including please/thank you, covering your cough/sneeze, keeping hands to yourself, taking turns, sharing, look/listen when someone is talking to you
-encourage students to do the vinegar/baking soda/water bottle/balloon grow Mr. Grinch's heart science experiment after class
-sing the abc song (specifically slowing down the L-M-N-O-P part)
-write your name and the letter 'M'
 1 file available upon enrollment
Printout "Upside Down Smile Frown" activity sheet on either green paper or color it green before class. Cut it out before class. Optional additional items are an extra sheet of green paper and a brad. I am going to encourage the students to do the "Grow Mr. Grinch's Heart" science experiment after class. If you want your child to do this experiment, you will need a cheap disposable plastic water bottle 1/4 filled with vinegar, a green balloon, a red marker, and 2 spoonfuls of baking soda.
