Class Experience
In this multi day class, learners will have the opportunity to understand the many facets of peace education within the Grace and Courtesy Curriculum and its importance to Montessori education. By exploring a variety of peace-based activities, students will be able to develop skills in the area of conflict resolution. Students will learn tools for resolving conflicts peacefully through a variety of rituals, songs, and peace-based activities.
No formal homework will be assigned, but learners will be encouraged to participate and suggested follow up activities if they were not completed in class.
White paper Scissors Pencil, colored pencils or crayons Small/medium Mason jar with lid Water Light corn syrup Glitter Food coloring Measuring cup Dish soap
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance is suggested for using scissors, as well as warm/hot water and food coloring needed to create the calming jar.
We will refer to two books during this class: The Peace Rose Our Peaceful Classroom
