1 hour per week. Each week, I will post videos and new techniques for students to practice.Class Experience
* I have added an additional video to this course. It is about how our behavior and words affect others. I wanted to add an update to be sure as my students needs change, I am addressing new issues that arise. In this class, your learner will be taught to recognize how they feel before they become angry. We will practice several different techniques to de-escalate our feelings and refocus our attention in a calmer manner. We will also go over how our emotions affect others. This is a student centered class, taught with patience and understanding. I feel it is more productive when the students participate as much as possible, instead of me lecturing them, I encourage students to interact. No prior knowledge is required for this class. I will show learners techniques to handle day-to-day stress. Each week, I will post videos for students to watch at a time that suits their schedule. Students are encouraged to contact me throughout the course. I will be posting questions for students to answer. These responses will be sent directly to me and shared without students names attached to respect individuals privacy. We will also be completing assignments such as drawings for the class to make observations about and learn from. Week one: Everyday stress Week two: Ways to refocus Week three: Techniques to calm ourselves down Week four: How our anger affects those around us The videos are shorter than a live class. Your child is welcome to pause, rewatch and take notes. Since this is not a live class with interaction, all of the information can be presented in a shorter time frame. Thus making it more informative and easier for students to sit through.
