This class is taught in English.

1. The student will be able to choose a topic or published passage for use in a public speaking opportunity, such as a speech competition.
2. The student will be able to speak slowly, clearly, and with proper diction and pronunciation.
3. The student will be able to speak with confidence, eye contact, pauses, gestures, voice inflection, and volume.
4. The student will be able to memorize and present a prepared speech or expressive reading passage.
5. The student will be able to present a public speech from a prepared outline.
6. The student will be able to speak extemporaneously about a topic with no outline.

The teacher has been working with students in the classroom setting since 2002. The teacher has been working as an online educator since 2020. The teacher has helped many students prepare for public speaking opportunities, including: teaching kindergarteners to recite poems for public performances; coaching students in dramatic productions, plays, and musicals; helping middle and high school students prepare public speaking presentations for regional and national competitions.
