Beginner Level
This is a self-paced, beginner ESL class. There are no live meetings with the teacher. Students will gain English skills through interacting with instructional videos in the self-paced classroom. The teacher has posted five instructional videos in each self-paced unit. Each video will provide an engaging lesson about an English topic. Students will interact with the teacher in several ways during each lesson. At the end of each video, the teacher will instruct the learner to pause the video and get the help of a grown-up with a phone camera. The learner will then resume the video. The teacher will ask questions in English from the video lesson. The grown-up may video the learner answering the questions in English. Students may upload a video clip of themselves speaking in English after each of the five instructional videos. The teacher will respond to student video uploads with video responses to help each learner speak with correct pronunciation and grammar. Students may also write comments in the classroom. The teacher will respond either in writing or through video clips to learners' messages and sentences in the classroom.
