Teacher Jamie's Virtual Piano Recital

Learning to perform is an important part of learning to play the piano. In this class, students will have the opportunity to showcase a song they have been learning in their private or group piano class.  This class is focused on performance only. It is not a substitute for their private or group piano class.
This class will help students get used to playing for an audience. It will also help them learn how to make a song performance ready.
During the class time each student will introduce themselves and which piece they are playing on piano. They will then have a chance to perform their piece. The other students in the course will listen to each student play, and practice their skills as audience members. 
Before the class start date, students will receive a worksheet with hints to help them practice their performance songs. They will also be given the order of the recital so they know when they will have a chance to play their song. Also an estimate of how long the class will last will be given.
Some important things to keep in mind for this class:
1. The length of the class will vary depending on how many students are participating. Class length cannot be guaranteed.
2. Students camera should be set up where the audience can see the student's profile. A picture example will be sent to students before class.
3. Students may need to adjust their audio settings to decrease Zoom background filtering. A guide for prefered audio settings will be sent to students before the class.
4. Parents and family members are welcome to watch their student perform but must remain off camera. To protect students, the class recording will not be made available after class.
