In this ESL drawing class we spend the beginning of class learning a letter from the English alphabet and then we use that letter to draw a picture in class with our friends! 

This is a perfect class for secondary English language learners who have a passion for drawing. It is also a great class for kindergarteners who are just starting to explore the world of art and are practicing identifying their geometric shapes. No super complex skills are need to participate in this class. As long as your student can hold a pencil and feels confident using some sort of coloring material then they should feel confident when taking this class.  

Each class will begin with good news. Then we will introduce the letter of the week by asking a variety of questions, such as: 

What letter do you see?
What sound does this letter make?
Can you draw this letter?
What sort of animals or things begin with this letter?

Then I will provide a step by step drawing demo where I will teach each student how to use basic lines and simple shapes to create something out of the letter of the week! This is a perfect time for us to talk about geometric shapes and what they look like. If we have time I will ask what else may begin with said letter and then encourage students to draw their own ideas using the new skills they have learned in class.
