Description
Class Experience
In this weekly, ongoing book club, students will gather together to hear read aloud and then discuss a Beatrix Potter book. Each week there will be a different book read and discussed. Students can join the book club for the books they want to read or sign up for all of them! Students will have ample opportunities to share their own thoughts and perspectives about the books. And the best part? We’ll share tea time! Bring your favorite beverage and/or snack, and we’ll enjoy a modern day tea...
Students will gain skills in the following areas: - active listening - sharing thoughts and insights - building vocabulary - engaging their imaginations - learning to love classical children’s literature
Classical children’s literature is a passion of mine! Reading magical tales from eras gone by requires a bit of finess. New vocabulary needs to be explained seamlessly, without disrupting the flow of the story. A life long reader of Beatrix Potter’s exquisite books, and an in-depth student of her literary genius, this class is offered straight from my heart. These stories are woven into the very fabric of my life.
Come with a favorite beverage and snack. Tea cups, fancy hats, gloves or other dress up clothes optional. Please bring your imaginations!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
