Each week we will study a different poet, artist, and composer. We'll explore brief biographical sketches and delve into their work. This week's lineup includes the lives and selected works of Monet, Chopin, and Robert Browning. Materials: Students may bring a poem (their own or one written by a poet) to share with the class, but this is not required. Students should also bring paper and drawing utensils in order to sketch the week's selected artwork.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Jennifer enjoys sharing her passion for writing, literature, and the creative arts with students of all ages. As a magazine and commercial writer for national and international corporations and publications, she has relished the great privilege of a career spent stringing words together.
Her background as an elementary school teacher and near decade of homeschooling a brood of four rowdy loves has revealed both the joy and struggle of teaching. She embraces a philosophy of literature based learning with heavy doses of nature thrown in for good measure, aspiring to but always falling quite short of the admirable principles of her mentor, Charlotte Mason.
In her free time, usually eeked out in the wee hours of the night when she should be sleeping, she enjoys devouring library books before her toddler wracks up fines by putting pen and marker to their tempting canvas of pages. She would love to count your children among those she is honored to teach.
