In this class, students will practice the social skill of turn taking by participating in a virtual tea party with Winnie the Pooh & his friends. Children will discuss ways they can take turns and show they care about the feelings of others. For example, • How might they decide the order in which turns will be taken? • How do they know when a person’s turn is over? • What could they do while they wait to get their turn back? • After the group brainstorms idea we will review the short list. • As the children participate in tea time, the will receive help to practice using the plans they talked about. • Afterwards, children will be encouraged to talk about how they felt when they had to stop, give someone else a turn, and wait to get it back. Students must bring a snack and beverage for themselves as well.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I'm Ms. Elizabeth.
I facilitate a variety of subjects ranging from science to music, life skills and more! The philosophy of Self-Directed Education (SDE) is one that I uphold for all of my students. It's a philosophy that encourages learners to take lead in their own education. As a Learning Facilitator my highest priority is to help students engage and explore their interests. During my 15+ years in the field of teaching I have been fortunate to have a wide range of students from ages 0-18+. I am excited to continue facilitating the learning process with your child and hope to see you in my classroom soon!
Happy Learning,
Ms. Elizabeth 😊
(And unschooling Mommy of 2 to boot!)
