BookTok, Bookstagram, BookTube...reading is all the rage on social media these days, but you don't have to be on social media to participate in the bookish community when you join this class!
Class experience
Social media is embracing reading but you don't have to be on social media to get in on the fun! Joining this month-long reading group provides access to all the social, emotional, and educational benefits of joining on the online bookish community without having to participate on social media platforms. During the first meeting, we'll set an attainable reading goal, play a TBR (To Be Read) game to then help us each create a unique, challenging, and inspiring reading list for the month....
This class is taught in English.
Students will explore their own recreational reading habits and learn more about themselves as readers - what format of book do they prefer? How do they best reflect on their reading? What do they value in a reading experience? How can something as personal as reading be improved by making it social?
I'm an English teacher with 23 years of experience and an advanced Education degree as well as an active member of the online Bookish community.
