Description

Class Experience

I am excited to help my students reach their reading potential through song!
Students will be improving their reading comprehension by learning about six different types of Literary Devices while listening to some of their favorite songs.

Literary Devices: Simile, Metaphor, Imagery, Symbolism, Hyperbole, Irony
I am an Orton-Gillingham certified dyslexia interventionist with an MA in Special Education, but I am also a long-time Swiftie! I have worked with striving readers in the classroom and my private practice for over 17 years. I love that I get to help people develop a lifelong love of reading and newfound confidence in themselves. I believe that everyone can read when they are provided with the right toolkit. I always ensure that my students feel supported and proud of their abilities.
There won't be any homework assigned, but learners are encouraged to study Taylor's lyrics outside of class.
 3 files available upon enrollment
I will provide everything needed for instruction.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please be aware of the fact that we will be listening to the music of Taylor Swift in this class. We will be using clean versions of all songs.
