* Special Note: Part 1 does not need to be taken prior to this class. Part 1 and Part 2 are independent of one another. In this 3 day cooking camp, students will prepare delicious, Jamaican inspired dishes. By the end of the camp, learners will have learned how to prepare a delicious Jamaican entree, two tasty side dishes, and a yummy dessert! This class is for learners who already have some experience in the kitchen and are familiar with using both the stove and oven, as well as a knife....
1. How to prepare the Jamaican inspired dishes from beginning to end, by reading and following a recipe. 2. Learn fun facts about Jamaica.
During my 22 years as an elementary school teacher, I have taught hundreds of students and always strive to make learning fun and exciting. This class is especially special to me because my husband is Jamaican and my family has traveled to this beautiful island five times. Additionally, for the past seven years, my husband and I have been the owners of a catering company that specializes in Jamaican cuisine. Jamaican food is a staple in my home, and I’m excited to share my love of this delicious food with learners!

Please check the ingredients list carefully to ensure that your learner is not allergic to any of the ingredients. Also, safety is extremely important to me. Please ensure that you are nearby and available to help if needed, when your learner is using the knife, as well as the stove and oven.
