This class covers elementary school grammar. Students will learn to label parts of speech and to edit mistakes in an ongoing story. This method of repeatedly correcting mistakes in longer passages is often more effective than working with isolated sentences. Students engage with the story and look forward to what is coming next. Students will improve their editing skills by practicing with an ongoing story. They will learn to edit and apply grammar skills to their own writing.
Homework Offered
IEW recommends your student hand copy each sentence into a notebook in their own handwriting for extra practice. I recommend this but will not be checking this. This may take an additional 20 minutes.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
