Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about each part of the foot and how it is used in tap, including ball, heel, toe, drop, and dig. Basic steps will be taught, such as flaps, shuffles, cramp rolls, paradiddles, etc.
Running shoes (ideally with white soles so that you don't scuff your floor), clothes you feel comfortable exercising in, water, a hard floor to dance on, open space to move around.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There is always potential risk when participating in physical activity. Please ensure your child is wearing proper footwear (in this case, running shoes, ideally with a white sole so that your shoes don't scuff the floor). As well, please ensure your child has enough room to dance, as well as a hard floor to dance on. Please have water available for your child. Lastly, please ensure your child is wearing clothing that they can dance/exercise in! We will be warming up together in order to prevent possible injuries. However, please be aware that potential injuries may include a sprain or broken bone from slipping/tripping and falling. It is advised that students are cautious when dancing, in addition to participating in the warm ups, in order to avoid injury.
