*Happily Accepting New Time Requests* Konnichiwa, I am Amy sensei. Welcome to Guided Japanese Learning for learners ages 6-9. This class is part 2 of 2 Japanese classes designed to build and retain vocabulary and practice speaking in beginner level sentences in a fun and engaging way. Learners will naturally begin using new words and phrases in order to play games presented in class. Suitable for absolute beginners and learners with some exposure. (If you are unsure of placement, please reach out to me). Lessons will be in Japanese and English. This class, Tanoshii 1 we focus on listening and speaking skills. In Tanoshii 2, we will add writing and reading as well. ______________________ Materials: Printouts, Pencil and Drawing Materials, origami paper ------------------------------ I will create a predictable routine to support comfort, confidence and comprehension. I use props, flashcards in both Romaji (English Alphabet and Kana), a felt board, puppets, stories, videos, VR trips, gestures and movement to bring life and understanding to the language. I am observant, personable, and playful and love to build a connection with each learner. Class Routine: 1.Greeting Song 2.Counting in Japanese Warm up 3. Individual Speaking Time 4.Weekly Theme: Japanese Storybook, Game, Hands-On materials 5.Our Friendship Song 🔸 Class Size: Limited to 6 learners, fostering a focused and personalized environment. 🔸 Age Recommendation: For learners in lower elementary. Grades 1-3. 📹 Camera Policy: Camera-on is essential for language practice interaction. ⏰ Punctuality and Materials Preparation Matters: This class starts promptly, and being on time allows all learners to have the most benefit of our time together. Materials needed-drawing materials and weekly printouts should be on hand before class begins.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the Japanese yen and count by tens,hundreds. They will practice shopping phrases, explore a Japanese konbini (convenience store),greetings, colors, shapes, parts of the face, make origami, and learn the names of animals of Japan.
