Class Experience
In this 45 minute course, students will be introduced to the concepts of both tangrams and isosceles triangles. A brief lesson on how to divide squares into different triangles will be provided. Students will then be provided with a template for creating their own puzzles. Students will draw and create their own creatures on the template worksheet. Students can share their work as they create their puzzle in class. When the design, drawing, and coloring is finished, students will cut their...
Students will learn about tangrams and isosceles triangles. They will also use problem solving skills to design and solve their homemade puzzle.
There is no homework for this class.
Students will be provided with a PDF of the worksheet prior to class. Learners will need a pencil, colored pencils or markers, and scissors. I recommend putting their puzzle pieces in a plastic ziplock at the end of the lesson.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Feedback will be provided as students work in class.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some students may need help cutting their puzzle at the end of the lesson.
