In this ongoing class, students (ages 9-13) will learn Japanese vocabulary found on a beginner's Japanese exam! We will meet once a week, and the class will be conducted in both English and Japanese. In every session, students will learn roughly ten new vocabulary words. This class aims for students to recognize and read vocabulary in the original Japanese script. A hiragana chart will be provided, and through the vocabulary words, students will become more familiar with the hiragana and familiarized with some Kanji characters as well. Students will see the vocabulary in hiragana or Kanji, should the world typically be written in Kanji. Furigana, the small hiragana script above Kanji to show the reading, will also be used where appropriate. Students will also receive the English-translated meaning of the vocabulary words. It is vital that students feel welcome and excited about learning. While having fun, we will also practice good classroom etiquette. Let's get ready to learn and have fun!
