This class will introduce learners to American Sign Language. This class will teach learners about the Alphabet and introduce fingerspelling. They will also learn how to have simple conversations: How are you? I'm fine and more. They will learn about pronouns, personal, and possessive. They will learn signs for emotions and verbs.
Day 1: Learn the Alphabet and the art of fingerspelling.
Day 2: Learn pronouns:
Personal: I/me - You - He/she - they/them
Possessive pronouns:
My/mine - Yours - His/Her - Our - Theirs
Day 3: Learn Emotions and Verbs
Emotions: Excited - Bored - Embarrassed and more.
Verbs: Always - Never - Often and more.
Learners will be given a link to a video on youtube that I will make to help them learn their names and to help with conversations.
We will use break out rooms in zoom to practice signing conversation with each other.
We will be having jeopardy style recognition games at the end of each class to reinforce with they have learned while having fun. We will also be able to sign the Happy Birthday song!Learning Goals
Learners will be taught the basics of American Sign Language and will be able to recognize casual conversations. How are you? He can run. and more.
