In this 5 week course, students will learn the alphabet, numbers 1-20, and some basic ASL signs, including family, colors, and basic conversation.
Class experience
This is a five-week course, helping to introduce your child to American Sign Language. Learners will interact both with me, the instructor, as well as their fellow classmates. Each week we will review a different category of signs: Week one: - Alphabet: A-Z, learn term “fingerspell” “my name” - Numbers: 1-10, “number” - Mom, Dad, grandma, grandpa, sister, brother, stepmom, stepdad, family, baby, home, - Learn general: I/me, my, what, have, again, I love you, yes, no, I’m learning ASL. Students will learn the ASL alphabet, and how to fingerspell their name. Each week will be broken down into these categories: family, food, colors, and basic signs to converse in ASL.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
