Conversation is one of the hardest skills to acheive while learning a Second Language. I know this because I'm bilingual myself and a live interpreter for one of the largest cable channels in the world: it is extremely hard to think in your native language while interpreting that same idea into a different languague, while making contextual sense in that other language, which structure is completely different from your native tongue. I'm also an ESL teacher for Chinese children. Enter your passion: Minecraft. You would do anything to share with the World why you love the game, no matter what the language is. You will make an effort to communicate with your friends about game strategies, cool tricks and different modes, to optimize your own game. Enter your second language: we all know you cannot stop talking about Minecraft in English; let's talk about it in Spanish. Tell the Hispanic world all about your passion!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their Conversational Spanish, while talking about what they love: Minecraft. Improve fluency and spoken grammar, while having fun, talking with friends about your favorite video game! At the start of every class, students will introduce themselves in Spanish and say a short phrase about why they like Minecraft. Teacher will lead the conversation by asking questions and helping each student formulate their ideas in Spanish. I created this course because my daughter loves to play Minecraft, and my Nicaraguan husband and I always insist she try to convey her ideas in Spanish, so she can practice fluency and conversational grammar, sentence structures and vocabulary.
