Class Experience

Calling all fans of Trollhunter, 3Below, Wizards! The Tales of Arcadia Fan Club is the place for you! Hang out, socialize, and share all your knowledge about Arcadia and learn more than you ever thought possible.

Before class, I will list several episodes from the different shows for students to watch to help stimulate conversation during the next live group discussion.

We will begin with an introduction by answering fun questions such as “What would you want to be a trollhunter, alien, or wizard?” Then we will discuss the assigned episodes before class, including themes, characters, and message of those episodes. The discussion will be student-led and student-centered, with me facilitating to ensure that everyone is treated respectfully and has time to talk if they desire. I’ll provide extra material and guide the discussion, including providing questions as needed.

Between class, I will post a discussion question, topic, or theme to help the student generator idea for the coming class. They can respond to the post before class or talk about it during class. As this isn’t assigned work students can take part or not.

Though I highly encourage students to take part in the discussion, they are welcome to just sit back and watch if they want to. The class is meant to be a fun social experience and a place where fans can get together to talk about shows they love. Students are welcome to bring fan art, books, or merchandise they like to share with the group.

NOTE: This is an ongoing class. Students are free to come and go as they please. If they want to skip a week, you can either unenroll for that class or ask me to send you the recording of what you missed. We’re always eager to welcome new club members or returning ones! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

We will begin from season 1 Trollhunter, but if there are any specific episodes or seasons requested, I am happy to accommodate

Hello everyone!

My name is Ashley. My classes are fun, informative, and engaging, and I genuinely love helping students learn while having fun. My primary goal is to help students use their creativity and curiosity to discover what they truly want to learn about.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Honors) from the University of Wyoming with a focus on international studies. I have worked with children for almost 5 years as an SPEA for Higher Needs students at a local school district. Currently, I am an online ESL teacher and writer. My teaching style is to provide students with the opportunity to exchange ideas with their peers and take an active role in their learning. I love to encourage students to explore different topics through a variety of methods in a warm and encouraging environment. I encourage questions and speaking during my classes as I believe it is critical for students to do so.

Though I have a wide range of topics I teach, my genuine passion is writing! Writing has always brought me joy because it allows me to use my creativity to share stories with others. I believe that writing should be enjoyable, encouraging, and overall a positive experience. Though I have done writing in many fields, my favorite is writing fiction stories in the fantasy and science fiction genres.
