In this 3 week course, students will read, discuss and analyze text while discovering character traits with Common Core aligned reader response comprehension questions.
Class experience
Students will meet once a week for 3 weeks in live video chats. Students will: *interact with the teacher and other students for our book club group *share reading aloud *share descriptions of character traits and themes *complete teacher led step by step text and character analysis independently and as a group *review chapters and complete Common Core aligned reader response. *make predictions, connections and have discussions. Students are asked to read Chapter One and Chapter Two before...
Each week there will be Common Core aligned reading responses and comprehension questions chapter by chapter. These responses check students' understanding, as well as provide them a focus for reading.
I am offering this class because I loved reading Judy Blume books as a child. This book is fun, provides vivid details that the reader enjoys and makes for a great book club. I have worked with children in public schools reading and analyzing text and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Student will need a copy of the book Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume, a notebook or loose paper and a pen or pencil. Students should read Chapter One and Chapter Two before our first class. They are short chapters. Before 2nd class, students need to read Chapters 3, 4, 5 and 6 (52 pages) Before last class, students need to read Chapters 7, 8, 9 and 10 (38 pages)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
