In this 8-week course, I will teach spelling strategies in a logical, sequential order. Through clear direct instruction, students will have the opportunity to learn exactly what they need to know in order to become strong spellers. Each class will start with a review/introduction of spelling strategies. We'll practice how to: *Pronounce for spelling (emphasizing the unaccented syllables to hear vowel sounds) *Analyze different parts of words (prefixes, suffixes, root) and learn...

I have my Master's in Reading and Literacy and taught in the classroom for over ten years, as well as tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups. I love seeing students gain confidence and have fun as they're learning to spell and read.
Whiteboard and marker or paper and pencil Dictionary (if available) would be helpful for some lessons
