Taking the "Eeek" Out of Public Speaking (One-On-One Class)

The goal of this"Taking the 'Eek' Out Of Public Speaking" 1-on-1 online class is to gradually equip your student with skills, strategies, and confidence to speak out, whether in class, giving strong oral presentations, debating effectively, or simply finding their voice in intimidating situations. The class encourages fun conversation, covering many elements of public speaking–from brainstorming and crafting speech ideas, sharpening skills in creative and impromptu thinking, embracing "non-verbals" like body language and emotion to give flair to how we communicate, build friendships, and bring out our best. Most of all, I hope to share important tactics to "un-eek" the common qualms and queasiness of public speaking. I use humor, stories, lots of games and challenges, and short video clips to create essential ties with my students (at whatever level). I play on their unique strengths and target their challenges to bring out their best. 

As a seasoned teacher of 20+ years at the middle school, high school, and first year college levels (and former speech and debate coach), I'm familiar with the stages and challenges faced by different ages related to public speaking. Crafting an engaging, fun, intentional online space for students to practice, learn, and grow is at the heart of how I tutor.
