In this 10 week ongoing class, students (ages 5-8) will learn how identify emotions.
Class experience
This 10-week ongoing class for students (ages 5-8) will be taught using visual examples and by interacting with students. I will use slides with words and pictures and video clips. Often, puppets will be used to help teach concepts. Topics will be different each week. Students will learn how to identify and manage emotions.
I am a parent of a child who was diagnosed with high functioning autism when she was 8 years old. She is now 25 years old. I have a passion for helping children in the autistic spectrum reach individual goals. I have a Master's Degree in elementary education. I led a support group for parents of children in the autistic spectrum for almost three years. I have also had experience teaching social skills classes to children in the autistic spectrum. I have attended an Autism/Asperger Conference and a Sensory Processing Disorder and Young Children workshop. As a parent of a child in the autistic spectrum, I have learned a lot about helping my child learn socialization skills on a daily basis, and I would be honored to work with your child to help them learn to navigate the social world we in which we live.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
