Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about how mindfulness impacts both the body and the mind. Students will be able to use mindfulness strategies to help regulate strong emotions.
Ms. Sarah has many years of knowledge and experience helping children cope with difficult life experiences. Sarah holds a masters degree in child and family studies which includes education and research in stress and coping support as well as child development. She also holds a certification in child life, which which includes passing rigorous testing to prove expertise in working with children who are experiencing stress. Sarah has completed a child life practicum of over 200 hours and a child life internship of over 550 hours. With over 7 years of experience working with children and families as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), Sarah recognizes that no two children are alike and it is important utilize many different techniques to meet the individual needs of each child. To that end, Sarah uses her expertise in mindfulness to help children identify their individual ways of positively coping.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
