Class Experience

Kumusta! [Hello!] Learning Tagalog may be challenging, but it doesn't have to be difficult. With the right kind of tools and an enthusiasm to learn, it can be a goal that's fun to achieve. This course is designed for beginning learners with zero to a little knowledge of Tagalog. I prepare the lessons based on the understanding that students who are going to take this course know how to read and have a basic understanding of English grammar. It's the only basic requirement for this course.

In this ongoing course, students will be introduced to Tagalog through vocabulary building, common phrases, fun expressions, and conversations. Students will have an opportunity to hone their ability to speak and understand this language. We will go over the basics of Tagalog reading, pronunciation and grammar. Student will use targeted vocabulary and sentences to help them construct their own sentences using the skill they will learn in this class.

For this course, I prepare slides and activities to make Tagalog understandable and the classroom experience fun and relatable for everyone! I like to add spontaneity in my classes to encourage free talk. I like interactions in the classroom and strive to achieve a class that’s informative and engaging.

Each class will be 30-35 minutes long and will include any or all of the following:
