Tactics and Strategies for Handling Back to School Stress

This one time meetup is a one hour session for us to introduce several tactics and strategies for students to employ as they head back to school! These strategies should help them find success as their work load gets a little heavier.

Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
In this one time class, we will meet and discuss strategies that students can employ to manage and minimize their stress levels as they go back to school.  Topics include time management, planning and organization, mindfulness and relaxation, and positive coping strategies.  As we work through each technique, students will be given examples and even some actual templates (organizational sheets, online planners, etc) that they can use.  This one time class will mostly be a discussion led by me, but students will also have a slides presentation that they can follow or refer back to.

Students will understand healthy stress management techniques.
Students will be able to employ techniques and strategies that will assist in their ability to minimize their stress levels.

As a licensed educator, I am fully aware of the stress that my students go through every year as school starts.  As a health teacher, mental health is very important to me.  During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I developed many healthy strategies for managing stress.  Now in my career through practice and research, I have fine tuned and added to these strategies.
