In this ongoing class, we will be crafting a new taco recipe every week. Each participant will be responsible for creating their own taco dinner.

Class experience

Measuring ingredients: Teach kids how to measure ingredients accurately using measuring cups and spoons. They can practice measuring spices for the taco seasoning, as well as other ingredients like cheese or diced tomatoes.

Mixing and seasoning: Show kids how to mix the taco seasoning into the cooked ground beef or chicken. Explain the importance of evenly distributing the spices for a flavorful result.

Sautéing and browning meat: If using ground beef, kids can learn how to brown it in a skillet over medium heat. Teach them how to break up the meat with a spoon or spatula while it cooks.

Chopping and dicing: Depending on their age and skill level, kids can practice chopping lettuce or dicing tomatoes. Make sure to provide them with age-appropriate knives and supervise them closely.

Assembling tacos: Show kids how to spoon the meat into taco shells or tortillas and guide them in arranging the toppings. Encourage them to be creative and experiment with different combinations of ingredients.

Plating and presentation: Teach kids the importance of presenting food nicely on a plate. Help them arrange the tacos in an appealing way and discuss how presentation can enhance the overall dining experience.

3 lbs. of beef or turkey
2 oz. of taco seasoning
1 tsp of black pepper
4 cups of shredded cheese
16 (8-inch) soft taco flour tortillas

Ingredients:
3 cups of tomatoes, diced
1 cup of white onion, diced
1/3 cup of lime juice
3 tbsp. of fresh jalapeno, finely diced
3 tbsp. of fresh cilantro, chopped

1 head of iceberg lettuce chopped
2 tomatoes diced
¼ cup sliced black olives

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup Catalina or French Dressing
2 cups Doritos we like taco flavored, but nacho works too

1 pound ground beef
1 oz packet taco seasoning
2 tablespoons water
8 – 6- inch flour tortillas
2 tablespoons oil
1 cup refried beans
⅓ cup enchilada sauce or Taco Bell sauce
2 cups shredded Mexican cheese
1 Roma tomato, diced
1 green onion, sliced
3 tablespoons black olives
2 tablespoons sour cream

1 Salsa
1/2 tsp Black pepper, Ground
1/2 tsp Sea salt
3 tbsp. Taco seasoning, Homemade
12 Flour tortillas
1 cup Cheese
 1 Sour cream
1/2 Cup Ranch
 1 10 Oz Can Rotel.

Walking Tacos and Walking Dessert Tacos
1 lb. ground beef
taco seasoning
¼ c. water
6 individual size bags of chips Fritos or Nacho Cheese Doritos
Toppings: Shredded lettuce, diced tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced black olives, diced avocado or guacamole, chopped onion, salsa or Pico de gallo, sour cream etc.

Easy Weeknight Taco Pie
1 lb. Ground beef
1/2 cup Salsa
1 tbsp. Taco seasoning
1 can Crescent rolls
3/4 cup Tortilla chips
1 cup Cheddar cheese
1 cup Sour cream

Chicken Enchilada Soup and Mexican Cinnamon Cookies
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon mustard powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon cumin
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch cayenne optional
Soup
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 yellow onion diced
1 jalapeno pepper diced with seeds removed
3 cloves garlic minced
10 oz. red enchilada sauce
10 oz. diced tomatoes with green chilies undrained
15 oz. black beans drained and rinsed
15 oz. canned whole kernel corn drained
1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
4 cups chicken broth
1 large boneless skinless chicken breast (or 2 small.) see notes if using cooked chicken
4 oz. cream cheese cubed and softened
1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
½ cup Monterey Jack cheese shredded. (Can also use more cheddar.)

1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
1 cup Butter
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
