Welcome to Ms. Abby's Taco Tuesday Weekly Cooking Class! This class will convene once a week for 40 minutes. Do you enjoy tacos? Were you aware of the various methods available for preparing taco recipes? Throughout this class, we will explore a new taco recipe each week. Learners will have the opportunity to savor distinct flavors. Please bear in mind that you can substitute any ingredients if necessary. The ingredients can be found in the supply list. Measuring ingredients: Teach kids how to measure ingredients accurately using measuring cups and spoons. They can practice measuring spices for the taco seasoning, as well as other ingredients like cheese or diced tomatoes. Mixing and seasoning: Show kids how to mix the taco seasoning into the cooked ground beef or chicken. Explain the importance of evenly distributing the spices for a flavorful result. Sautéing and browning meat: If using ground beef, kids can learn how to brown it in a skillet over medium heat. Teach them how to break up the meat with a spoon or spatula while it cooks. Chopping and dicing: Depending on their age and skill level, kids can practice chopping lettuce or dicing tomatoes. Make sure to provide them with age-appropriate knives and supervise them closely. Assembling tacos: Show kids how to spoon the meat into taco shells or tortillas and guide them in arranging the toppings. Encourage them to be creative and experiment with different combinations of ingredients. Plating and presentation: Teach kids the importance of presenting food nicely on a plate. Help them arrange the tacos in an appealing way and discuss how presentation can enhance the overall dining experience.
