Class Experience
Do you struggle with math story problems or math tasks? Need help figuring out what a math problem is asking you to do? In this one-time math class, students will learn strategies to help them solve a variety of math story problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and multiple operations. We will be working with numbers up to 1,000 for addition and subtraction and numbers up to 100 for multiplication and division. The class will start with students sharing how they...
Students will learn how to breakdown a story problem to identify what they know and what they need to find. Students will learn how to make a plan to solve a math problem. Students will learn how to write a complete answer. Students will practice explaining their math process verbally and in written form.
I have had training in teaching Eureka Math/Engage NY math curriculum.
Students will be provided the first math problem to complete before class begins, so the class discussion can begin after greetings. This problem should not take more than 20 minutes to solve.

Students will show their understanding by completing a problem independently and showing their work
