In this one-time course, students will learn how to breakdown and solve any story problem or math task with confidence. Students will learn a problem-solving strategy as used in the Eureka Math or Engage NY curriculum. #academic

Class Experience

Students will learn how to breakdown a story problem to identify what they know and what they need to find. 
Students will learn how to make a plan to solve a math problem. 
Students will learn how to write a complete answer. 
Students will practice explaining their math process verbally and in written form. 
I have had training in teaching Eureka Math/Engage NY math curriculum. 
Students will be provided the first math problem to complete before class begins, so the class discussion can begin after greetings. This problem should not take more than 20 minutes to solve.

Pencil/Scrap Paper Dry Erase Marker/Dry Erase Whiteboard Math Task Worksheet
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will show their understanding by completing a problem independently and showing their work 
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The strategies taught will be based on the Eureka Math/Engage NY Math curriculum.
