Eating sweet treats are delicious but we need to limit our intake of sugar. This ongoing class explores different ingredients to make more healthful sweet treats and will not include traditional sugar (other sugars such as coconut, monk, and date will be explored). Every month will focus on a particular food but students need not join us every week as each week will feature a new recipe. Students will learn how to make sweet delicious treats without using traditional sugar.
There is no homework but students should be prepared with ingredients and supplies before class starts (list will be on classroom page).
All supplies and ingredients will be listed on the classroom page a week before class. See above description for week one's list.
Students will be able to assess their work by the taste of their treats.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will need access to the kitchen and may use knives, stove, oven, etc. Kitchen safety will be discussed in class. Please let teacher know of any food allergies for suitable substitutes.
