1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time class, students will learn about the artist Wayne Thiebaud and the different types of “sweet art” paintings he created. The students will view pictures of his artwork on a Google Slide presentation. The students will create an art project inspired by this artist. The students will create a drawing/painting of an ice cream sundae. The teacher will interact with each student throughout the class and monitor their progress. The students will follow along with the teacher step-by-step on the teacher's document camera. The teacher will model each step for this drawing/painting lesson visually and verbally. The teacher will give the students design techniques, ideas, examples, and encourage them to use their own imaginations to make this artwork their own. Before the class ends, the students will be encouraged to share their artwork with the other students in the class and interact with them socially. Any student who brings a sweet dessert to class will have the opportunity to tell the class what they brought. We will sign off with a virtual toast to a successful class with a bite of our dessert. Zoom- Please make sure to log into your Zoom Class a few minutes prior to the class start time. You will be placed in the waiting room right before class starts. During this time, make sure your child’s name is displayed in your Zoom link (this will make it easier for me to call on your child during class), test your audio, and make sure your laptop is plugged in or you have enough battery life. Refund Policy- You will receive a full refund within 24 hours of purchase, or up to one week in advance of the class. The students are not required to have any prior knowledge or experience.
