In this class, we will learn 3 of the main ways we can re-use food scraps from the kitchen in order to make our homes more sustainable. These include: Composting, earthworm bins, and re-using certain vegetable scraps and seeds to grow new vegetables. I will be taking the students into my worm bin at home, showing them how I feed food scraps to my worms to make new soil for my garden. I will also be showing them how you can save the tops of onions, carrots, garlic, chives, and other veggies...
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
