In this One time class students will learn important information and expressions that will allow them to communicate in a foreign country where Spanish is spoken. Every week, this one time class will allow you to learn a new topic.

What a wonderful time of the year to learn survival Spanish! 

In this class you will learn interesting facts about some Spanish speaking countries. What kind of food do they eat?, What's the weather like? What is the currency?, what places should I visit?, What is the mean of transportation? What things should I keep in mind when I travel? Learn expressions that will help you communicate with locals and move around the city. 

Learn words that are so similar in English and Spanish and learn how to pronounce them correctly. 
Learn numbers, how to read the menu and other ways to translate using your phone.

Week #1: 

May 1-3     Mexico -  Numbers 1-10  - currency
May 8-10  Mexico  - Number 10-20 - On the street vocabulary
May 15-17  Mexico - Transportation - On the train vocabulary
May 22-24 Mexico - Food - food vocabulary
May 29-31 Mexico  -  Interesting facts
June 5-7    Mexico - Menu - At the restaurant vocabulary
June 12-14 Mexico - Shopping - At the supermarket

Learning Goals
Students will be exposed to rich vocabulary in Spanish that will allow them to make connections that will last a lifetime. Participants will be engaged in activities with directions in Spanish. Students will be repeating words and sentences while doing things that they love.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
In this class kids will practice words and sentence repetition and will observe some images that show age appropriate pictures of tourists visiting different countries, cities, landmarks and touristic places. For some topics I might use: You Tube: I will use a sharable screen for songs. Google Docs / Acrobat reader / Canva : I will attach some documents for you to download and print. Kahoot/ Quizlet: It is not required that you create an account. You will use a code to participate in the activity. I will share the link previous to the class. Duolingo: From time to time we will use this page so students who read can practice their skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am very able to teach my students the most effective way to learn, which is by using the language.  I have experience working with kids and teenagers with different backgrounds and cultures. 

I have travelled to different spanish speaking countries and I grew up in one of them.  I have established conversations with  people from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico.  I understand very well different dialects and expressions, which makes me knowledgeable of the use of the language. 

I also have  have persued formal studies where I have obtained my five year Bachelor's degree  in education. I have taught in Venezuela and the US for over 12 years. My experience range from Elementary to High School. I have taught Spanish, EFL and ESL.
