Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Beginner Level
This course has all of the support of a live class but at a slower, individualized self-paced format. This course is ideal for students who need an Algebra curriculum that constantly reviews previously learned information and scaffolds that information in a way that builds understanding systematically using brain-friendly methods.

*This is part 2, students need to have taken my part one or an equivalent level class before enrolling.

Each topic will include an interactive video lesson and practice. An interactive video is a video that I make where students will have instructed times to pause and interact with the material; for example students may need to do part of their homework with me during the video or they need to comment on the video itself an answer to a question. All of these interactive parts are for processing and synthesizing information. Students should plan for 2-5 hours worth of activities and work each week as this is a full curriculum. Please note the videos will be short and succinct for the best learner retention and understanding.

At the end of the semester, the student will receive a letter grade for the course. The grade will be comprised of the interactive activity participation and the homework. All grades and feedback will be personalized for your student.

In order to support learning students will be provided with notes (similar to what they would find in a textbook). Students will also have access to the materials for the textbook. This is a free curriculum. We will use graphing calculators but a free digital version will be available.

Learning Goals

Students will identify a function (exponential or linear) and write and graph an equation of a function.
Students will solve a variety of problems related to functions.
