Class Experience
In this Book Club we will read any and everything supernatural (vampires, werewolves, witches, and so forth). For the first few months of class we will read the book ‘Twilight’ by Stephenie Meyer, which covers vampires and werewolves. We will have weekly group discussions in a relaxed space held on Wednesday at 4pm. For discussion learners will engage with each other and myself to openly and respectfully talk about the chapters we read. In the discussion we will cover things like development...
This class is taught in English.
In this Book Club students will learn to speak up and have their own voice when talking. They'll also learn to respect different opinions and perspectives when discussing topics about each chapter we read. A bonus their creativity will flourish because their minds are using imagination and this can help spark inspiration and happiness in other aspects of their daily life.
The homework for this club is to read the 2 chapters given each week before the next following club meeting. As of right now there will be no projects to do for this club. The estimated time for homework to be completed each week depends on how fast the students read, it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Students would be expected to read about 40 pages a week.
There aren't many supplies needed for this club. The only thing thats really important for this class is to have the correct book of the month. The book can be hardcopy, audio, ebook, etc.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Costumes for Wrap Party: Mask are welcome, however, masks should be removed for identification during the first four minutes of class to meet safety and privacy policies. Costumes will be vetted by teacher to ensure that Outschool standards are met (secular, age - appropriate, etc.)
